NEVER PARK UNDER A TREE or LAMPOST

Just saw two cars crushed  by a falling tree due to this afternoon strong rain. Out of the two, one have an extra bonus of having a lampost on top as well. It happen in a carpark in one Polytechnic. If it is on a main road , there would be serious casualty. Both owners was heard discussing about how to claim compensation. How to? This is a Act of God. Try to claim from him and lightning will strike you.So to all drivers out there , a bit of sun (when you park your car in the open) is good for you rather than under the tree. Moral of the story: If it rain and you park under the tree, remember repairing your car is not always free.

Our cheer goes”Dynamic,Dynamic,We Can,We Will,We Huat Ar” well a taste of local lingo.  We were lead by the trainer to climb certain outdoor obstacle. The first Structure we climb upwas about three storey high(with safety rope of course) then a that height we cross a swinging bridge and down again. The second obstacle we have to climb in pairs till we reach the three storey height.Last was the flying fox where you slide down the cable(three floor high) to the ground.

The trainer : So  have you all learn anything after climbing these obstacle?”

Me: Oh Yes, I have found out whether I am suitable for the a career in the construction  industry or not”

MEDICINE: BAD SIDE EFFECT

Have a bad encounter with side effect of a medicine which was supposed to be anti-vomiiting. Normally given when one have bad gastric flu or bug. It causes  both eye ball to be tilted upwards as though one is looking up the ceiling thus exposing the majority of white part of the eyes. The eyes cannot look straight forward as per normal no matter how hard you try to look straight ( it affects the optic nerve). Lucky the expert neuro doctor place a injection and in 5 mins time both eyes are able to look straight again.  I have encounter  medicine allergy like rashes, swollen lips or part of face but to cause ones eyes to be tilited up is really scary.

TAIWAN: PRESSURE SALES TACTIC

Well as per most tour, the guide will deviate from iternary and divert you to certain setup to buy certain home product . I went through LIN ZHI, ROYAL JELLY and JADE STATUE. They will guide every one to a room and do a presentation on their product after which they will allocate their sales staff to hoover around you and insist that you purchase their product at a special price (oh cheap only $1,000 over only) They even encourage you to use your card( as though  we no need to pay later) The best tactic was on the JADE STATUE( shape of a lion) This outlet have a inhouse fortune teller claiming that this statue (if you buy will bring you wealth) . First they claim to “help” you calculate your chinese character of your name and using a formula they predict your fortune(quite accurate though) But they claim to enhance your luck you have to buy the statue. Price: S$1,000 to S$1,500.

Me: I am sorry it is out of my budget.

They: But we calculated for you that it will bring you luck.

Me: Sorry, it really is out of my budget.

They: You can use card you know.

Me: Yes, use card still must pay right. You have any lower price.

They: Ok, (show me another statue) this is about $800.

Me: No, still to ex.

Well in the end I only bought a small statue(about $100) . They were not very happy though. But when I look around it seems that they created a pressure cooker enviroment with alot of cheering when sales was closed(esp when some of my friend bought a few of  the big statue) Thus you would feel “left out” if you do not buy thier product. My advise to all if ever in this type of scenario. stand your ground and tell them you have no budget or no card to swipe. No need to pai seh with these people. Or else you end up bringing items back home and asking yourself why did I buy them?
