Well as per most tour, the guide will deviate from iternary and divert you to certain setup to buy certain home product . I went through LIN ZHI, ROYAL JELLY and JADE STATUE. They will guide every one to a room and do a presentation on their product after which they will allocate their sales staff to hoover around you and insist that you purchase their product at a special price (oh cheap only $1,000 over only) They even encourage you to use your card( as though we no need to pay later) The best tactic was on the JADE STATUE( shape of a lion) This outlet have a inhouse fortune teller claiming that this statue (if you buy will bring you wealth) . First they claim to “help” you calculate your chinese character of your name and using a formula they predict your fortune(quite accurate though) But they claim to enhance your luck you have to buy the statue. Price: S$1,000 to S$1,500.
Me: I am sorry it is out of my budget.
They: But we calculated for you that it will bring you luck.
Me: Sorry, it really is out of my budget.
They: You can use card you know.
Me: Yes, use card still must pay right. You have any lower price.
They: Ok, (show me another statue) this is about $800.
Me: No, still to ex.
Well in the end I only bought a small statue(about $100) . They were not very happy though. But when I look around it seems that they created a pressure cooker enviroment with alot of cheering when sales was closed(esp when some of my friend bought a few of the big statue) Thus you would feel “left out” if you do not buy thier product. My advise to all if ever in this type of scenario. stand your ground and tell them you have no budget or no card to swipe. No need to pai seh with these people. Or else you end up bringing items back home and asking yourself why did I buy them?

Most memorable are the tastiest food . Fried oyster, big pig trotters braised till so soft that the meat just easily lift off from the bone. Chicken chop size larger than your palm, put in paper bag for you to take away. Braised duck ( favourite with HKongers), heart, tongue, liver. Oh yes, BBQ stick of chicken backside(favourite with Taiwanese) they say good for complexion??? Giant sausages at least foot long. Mee Sua with oyster. My favourite Muay chee roll with peanut or red bean or sesame(unlike local version without feelings?) And yes dessert bean curd with peanut mixed with red bean soup. They even have their own version of ice kachang. Bear in mind the cost is around $2. Even their Starbuck coffee only $5 but bigger serving too. Well will be writing a book on Taiwan food and most hopefully release before new year .

Taiwan roadside have those booth whereby pretty girls (revealing clothes.. daring than beachwear) selling pinglang(type of leave and seed combo for chewing like chewing gum) So my tour bus driver decided to stop at one booth to show us the ping lang mei. Ours is a double decker coach. He came up deck and hatch a scheme.
Driver: Do you want to see ping lang mei up close:
All: Yes!!!( from both ladies and gents in the tour group)
Driver: Ok but need the young guy sitting at the end of the bus to say that he wants buy the ping lang if not she will not come up the bus.
Young Guy: Ok
S0 the driver stop at one booth and tell the girl to come up as there is a buyer up deck. She came up only assured by the driver that we are sincere. As she came up the deck, everyone was stunned by her youth and beauty and of cos her dressing. She pause a while to allow picture taking by us . As we were still mesmerised by the beauty, she starts to speak.
She: Who wants to buy ping lang? ( in “her”deep husky voice)
All:(unanimously point to the young guy sitting at the end.) ” He is the one”
Expression on the young man face was priceless.

Well just came back from 13 days taiwan trip ( 7 days tour 6 days free & easy) Last 6 days check into a 3 star hotel. On first night can hear the fridge making loud noise in the middle of the night. On second late night I was using the toilet and saw one of my missus sock on the toilet floor, well I just pick it up and put it near the basin ( Oh she must have drop it) Next morning she ask me where I found the sock. I told her in the toilet. She explain that her pair of socks with shoes was under the chair in the room. How did it end up in the toilet? Well we marched to the lobby and request for change of room. As a driver, I notice a dangerous trend of pedestrian young and old alike taking unneccessary risk when crossing the road. Every time they see a car driving towards them, instead of waiting for the car to pass by they walk towards the car and let the car pass by them inches away. Another common scenario is crossing the road even there is a car coming towards them and expecting the car to slow down for them. There was once I was driving into a carpark when this group of teenagers walk towards my moving car , they were very close to my driver side but lucky I was slow.As I pass them I felt my rear tyre ran over something. I stopped and wind down the window and saw one of them limping away. It seems road safety is the last thing on people mind nowadays. To use their body against steel, they will learn the hard way.. they lose even their life.

I am wearing a talisman ( to protect and ward of evil)given by a certain master. For the past few weeks I was going through very very tough times. No body know and understood what I went through as the cause was due to a serious incident. I have to go through series of interviews and tough question as they try to trace the cause. Hopefully this week they will come to a closure. Two days ago I realise my talisman was missing when I was wearing my chain. I approach my master for advise. He told me when you lost your talisman, it is a sign that whatever danger and bad luck I have gone through is also lost together with my talisman. He told me to seek for a new one. He took out one and gave it to me after blessing it with prayers. Looking forward to a new beginning and luck from now on.

Woke up at 3am to eat by breakfast ahead of the marathon. 5.30am at “Durian” starting point. This year made up my mind to be in top three position with the Kenyan runners(their record about 2hrs 14 mins.).. just kidding. Spoke to one of them and their secret of running fast.. run fast or get eaten by lions. May be next year I will try out same method by borrowing our lions from Mandai Zoo. Of cos if you do not notice any new blogs that means I am eaten by them liow. I manage to run smoothly till the 36km mark where the hot sun was so strong, many runners starts to walk. I walk for at least 2km before I struggle and ran to the ending point.(Well die die when near ending point must run cos so many babes cheering on,so no matter how bo lard must act like cool and easy ma)
Time recorded 6hrs . Thrill and siokness of limping due to leg cramp pricless. Ask me will I do it all over again ..Yes.. unless petrol falls below one dollar.
